ARTEMISpoetry is the bi-annual journal (November and May) of the Second Light Network, published under their Second Light Publications imprint.
Submission is open to non-members. We aim to publish new work, so submissions should be unpublished (by ‘published’ we mean: in print, on the internet or by way of media broadcast or on CD), and not ‘out in submission’ elsewhere, whether to magazines or competitions.
Editors for Issue 9 are Dilys Wood and Kay Syrad; (General & Artwork); and Alison Brackenbury (Poetry) .
Poems by women of any age. Poems should be typed, or if written, then very neatly. Each poem should commence on a new page, headed "Submission for ARTEMISpoetry". Please SEND TWO COPIES. Do include your name with each poem and include your name and full contact details in your submission. Long poems are considered. Submit up to 4 poems to a maximum of 200 lines in all.
Contributors whose poetry is accepted will be notified by 31 October 2012.
Poetry Editor: Alison Brackenbury. Born in 1953, Alison Brackenbury may be Britain’s only poet in a boiler suit, as she works in the family metal-finishing business. She has published seven collections, most recently Singing in the Dark, Carcanet, 2008. Her particular interest is Internet poetry. She publishes new poems via her blog at www.alisonbrackenbury.co.uk, and via her Facebook Group, called Poems from Alison.
Black/white photographs or line-art, maximum of 4 pieces. We are looking to include a wide range of subject-matter and style. Paper copy to Dilys Wood (as below). Contributors whose artwork is accepted will be notified by 31 October 2012.
Cover Art: Colour submissions for cover art – front and back – are invited for consideration for future issues.
ISSUE 10: guidelines as above. Deadlines are 28 February 2013 for poetry and 31 March 2013 for artwork.
