Writers Wanted for New Progressive Website (covers LGBT, immigration, culture | pay: $50-$300 per article)

Post date: Friday, July 6, 2012
Innovative news and current affairs website for progressives, liberals, and the activist community will launch this Fall or Winter. We are seeking accomplished and/or very talented writers and reporters to provide cutting-edge, compelling news, commentary, and articles of topical interest to progressives. We'll cover everything from US politics and international affairs, human rights, climate change and science/technology, to lifestyle, culture, arts & music, LGBT issues, immigration, economic and social justice, globalization and the environment.

Accomplished writers who are published, with portfolio of credentials and progressive credibility are sought, but we also want to liven the mix with young, less experienced writers who are strongly motivated in progressive politics. All writers will be paid, starting from $50 per published article (minimum number of words: approx. 1000). Articles will be either news or op-ed type pieces on current affairs. Once we have achieved a higher profile, we anticipate that writers will garner between $100 and $300 per article, or that compensation will be based on the percentage of your original content appearing on the website every month.

High-calibre journalists and reporters will be invited to file regular news reports on domestic and international affairs; once the website is established, news reporting (as opposed to op-ed writing) is expected to be compensated at about $300/article, for up to 4-8 news articles per month.

Please respond to this ad and submit your résumé, progressive credentials, references and at least one writing sample. We hope to build a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with a number of excellent writers and reporters in the Washington, DC area!
