Nicole Wilkinson recently started up Wilde Magazine and they're seeking submissions for their first issue.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Wilde Magazine is a biannual publication of art and writing by and for the GLBTQ community. We seek to not only offer a high-quality publication from a queer perspective, but to also create an environment for discussion and workshopping through our podcast and forums, as well as through our editorial process where we offer in-depth commentary and critique for those that submit.
We’re seeking submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, and visual art of all mediums. Work published in the magazine may also be shared on the podcast, and artists and writers may be featured for interviews.
All submissions must be your original work. Absolutely no copyrighted material.
Our editors will try to respond to you within a timeframe of 2-3 months or less.
Work from those of all ages, sexualities, religions, gender expressions, etc. are welcome. We don't discriminate - we want a varied perspective. However, we do aim towards those in the LGBTQ community.
Work with sexual themes/nudity is permitted, so long as it is tasteful.
Work does not need to have explicitly gay themes, so long as it fits in with the flow of the magazine.
You may send work that is already published, so long as you retain your rights to your work at the time of submission. You may also send work that is under consideration from another publication so long as you ensure that you let us know in the case of its acceptance into that publication, so we can pull it from ours.
At Wilde Magazine, we want to see you succeed as an artist or writer. Therefore, if we feel your piece has potential, we will e-mail you back with suggested revisions or critique based on the opinion of our staff. You may also go to our workshop in our forum prior to submitting to get advice and critique from those in the community. We want to see you grow in your trade, and we want to see you published.
Copyright for works published in Wilde Magazine reverts to the author upon publication. However, we request permission to feature your work on our website.
