The Women’s National Book Association's 1st Annual Writing Contest (US)

The Women’s National Book Association is a national organization of women and men who work with and value books. WNBA exists to promote reading and to support the role of women in the community of the book. .

Submit your work to the 1st Annual WNBA Writing Contest! Submissions open from May 1st to September 15th. Fiction entries judged by Valerie Martin award winning author of 9 novels, 3 short story collections, and one biography. Poetry entries judged by Julie Kane, Poet Laureate of Louisana.

GUIDELINES:
  • Submit between May 1st and September 15th, 2012.
  • Fiction 2,500 word limit – may be a short story, or a stand alone excerpt from a novel in progress.
  • Poetry: 35 line limit – or one page double spaced
  • Previously unpublished work only.
  • Please upload your entry without your name, address, and contact information. This information will be collected when you fill out the submissions form.
  • Acceptable formats are: .docx (Word 2007), .doc (Word 2003 or earlier), and .rtf (Rich Text Format)
